Hola amigos, 15-9-2009 Pidiendo Oraciones
Tengo una lista de peticiones por oración por ustedes:
1. El Salvador está en medio de una elección importante hoy. Ora que la voluntad del Señor esté hecho, y que lo que sea el resultado, la gente tenga diálogo entre si y que no tenga recurso a la violencia para resolver sus diferencias.
2. Mañana tengo planes para dar seis presentaciones en la escuela secundaria de Proviso del Oeste en Chicago. Los estudiantes están involucrados en las pandillas y algunos probablemente llevan armas cuando no están en clase. Ora que estemos abiertos a lo que Dios querré decirnos a y que cada uno de nosotros traiga su paz, justicia, y alegría.
3. He hecho una solicitud y he tenido una entrevista para ofrecerme en el programa de acompañamiento de la iglesia Colombina Presbiteriana. Me sentí muy bien sobre la entrevista y me siento que el programa me caería muy bien. Los presbiterianos han esperado por dos semanas para hablar con CPT antes de seguir con mi solicitud. Ora que CPT responde pronto y si no que yo tenga paciencia.
4. Estoy experimentando una crisis en mi vida y voy a reunir con mi psicológico en Martes a las 2:30. Ora que yo especialmente pueda estar abierto a lo que Dios me quiere hacer.
5. Este miércoles 18-3-2009 voy a pasar el día haciendo presión al gobierno por una ley de control de armas en Illinois con la organización CAPS “Estrategia de Policía Alternativa de Chicago”, una organización bajo el departamento de policía de Chicago. Ora por nuestros esfuerzos para limitar quien puede cargar armas.

Sugerimos que tomen tiempo hoy para ponerles en contacto con sus representantes del estado hoy para pedirles que apoyen un examen de antecedentes previo a la venta de armas (HB 48).

House Bill 48, patrocinado por Rep. Harry Osterman (D-Chicago), cerraría el “resquicio legal de ventas privadas de armas” por requirir que las ventas privadas o traslados de armas se conducta con comericiantes que son licenciados por el gobierno federal, para que se pueda administrar un examen de antecedes. Esto es un ley de sentido comun que preveniría que criminals, delincuentes de violencia domestica, personas con enfermedades graves de mente, y menores tengan acceso a las armas.

Dia de Presion por la Prevencion de Violencia de Arma en Springfield
En Miercoles, 18 de Marzo, muchos activistas van a viajar en autobus a Springfield para hacer presion en los representantes a apoyar a HB 48.

Hello friends, 9/15/09 Calling Prayers
I have a prayer list for you.
1. El Salvador is in the midst of an important election today. Pray that God’s will be done. That whatever the out come that people would have dialogue with each other and not resort to the gun to resolve their differences.
2. Tomorrow I plan to give 6 presentations in the Proviso West High School in Chicago. Students are involved in gangs and probably some carry guns when not in school. Pray that we all could be open to what the Lord wants to say to and through each of us to bring his peace, justice, and joy.
3. I have made an application and had an interview to volunteer in the Colombian Presbyterian accompaniment program. I felt very good about the interview and feel their program would fit me very well. The Presbyterians have been waiting 2 weeks to talk to CPT before they can move ahead with my application. Pray CPT would respond soon and if not that I would have patience.
4. I am going through a crisis in my life and will be seeing my counselor on Tuesday at 2:30. Pray I especially could be open to what ever the Lord wants to do.
5. This Wednesday 3/18/09 I am going to spend the day lobbying for Illinois state gun control with CAPS “Chicago Alternative Policeman’s Strategy” a organization under the Chicago Police department. Pray for our efforts to keep guns out of the wrong hands.

House Bill 48, sponsored by Rep. Harry Osterman (D-Chicago), would close the “private sale loophole” by requiring the private sale or transfer of any handgun to be conducted at a federally licensed firearm dealer so that a background check can be completed. This is a common sense bill that would help prevent felons, domestic violence offenders, individuals with severe mental illness, and minors from accessing handguns.
